Dear mouldoune,
There is only one sexually transmitted infection that might be transmitted this way, and that is pubic lice (crabs). But getting pubic lice from a toilet seat is unlikely. They are usually spread through sexual contact, but they can also be spread by contact with toilet seats, infected bedding, clothing, and cloth-covered furniture.
Pubic lice are very contagious. Having pubic lice can be very uncomfortable and itchy because they bite and suck the blood of the person who has them. But the good news is that pubic lice can be treated with relative ease. If you look very closely, you can see them with a naked eye or with a magnifying glass. They look like very tiny crabs.
You can get body shampoo to kill pubic lice at your local drugstore. Some of the brands are A200, RID, and ImnoGel Plus. Look for the word "pediculicide" on the label and follow directions carefully.
If that doesn't work or you think you may have some other sexually transmitted infection, call 1-800-230-PLAN to schedule an appointment at a Planned Parenthood near you, or find us
online.
Hope this information helps!
Take care,
