Your Question:
Dear Experts,
Can you get STIs from kissing?
Tippi03, 02.01.05
The Answer:
Dear Tippi03,
Yes. Although kissing is considered a lower-risk kind of sex play when compared to intercourse and oral sex, it can transmit CMV, hepatitis B, herpes, and syphilis. CMV and hepatitis B can be present in saliva, and herpes and syphilis can be transmitted through skin-to-skin contact, particularly at times when sores are present.
Hope this information helps!
Take care,
